Scope Creep

I'm Scope Creep, Manager of One More Thing. I'm responsible for Camp improvements, program enhancements, facility upgrades, and a handful of projects that began as very simple requests. The new canoe rack, for example, started as "maybe we should move the paddles." We're currently in Phase Four.

I like to make things better. More useful. More complete. If the Arts & Crafts cabin needs a shelf, perhaps it also needs better lighting. If we're repainting one sign, we may as well revisit the whole wayfinding system. I keep a notebook full of good ideas, better ideas, and ideas that occurred while implementing the previous ideas. Camp administration has asked me several times to stop using the phrase "while we're at it."

You'll usually find me carrying a measuring tape, five revised plans, and a small stack of materials for something nobody remembers approving. I have never met a project that couldn't benefit from one thoughtful addition, and I once turned the annual horseshoe tournament into a three-day recreational festival with vendor booths, commemorative pennants, and an opening ceremony.
